The Social Court of Berlin-Brandenburhg decided that for a
taxi ride to a medical treatment
a prescription
and prior approval of the health insurance
is necessary.
In this case, a 77-year-old suffered drastic Spine and a slipped disc. He received a certificate of from his orthopedic disease, which also confirmed that he could only with a taxi visit the practice. The health insurance refused but later, from taxi receipts amounting to about 2000 € to be paid, whereupon the man went to court. He stated that he had received special treatment on a massage table, which had saved the insurance the cost of an expensive disc surgery .
